This image was taken on black and white film on an old Nikon, I think the year would have been about 2004. I have always had a fascination with the swallow. It has no no natural predators yet is so gentle and elegant. In other words with it’s agility and intelligence it earns a rare position in nature.
3 images from my series ‘Train’. I took these pictures throughout a 4 month period taking trains up the coast of Catalunya from Barcelona. At the start of the project I was told my mother had 3 months to live and by the end of the project Coronavirus had hit. These pictures represent to me our tainted vision, how each one of us sees the world differently. I love the graffiti obscuring the view, I love that it has created a new perspective. I’m happy to say my mother is doing well. Coronavirus is here but maybe it’s a new beginning. It depends on how we see it.
Great to be working on another project for Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya. This time working as graphic designer for the exhibition on the Catalan photographer Oriol Maspons. Lots of printed material and online banners. Also at the moment working on a video for promotion for the metros of Barcelona……
I love music, and I love photography. I’m the photographer for the World Music Event ‘Babel Nights‘ taking place in Barcelona every month. Bands come from every corner of the globe to play in a venue called Tradicionarius in the barrio of Gracia. Tradicional music of all types, jazz, fusion, funk…..it’s all there. Bands like Naked from Serbia, Calima from Catalunya, Miramundo from Barcelona and Ibrahima Cissokho playing with Le Mandingue Foly, African French. The colour and mixture of people is a beautiful thing and it’s fitting that it’s it Barcelona, a city full of diversity. – To view my live music portfolio click here
