OPEN ARMS PROJECT to help with Mediterranean crisis

– TO HIGHLIGHT THE DEATH OF IMMIGRANTS ESCAPING FROM TERROR AND DISPLACEMENT FROM THEIR HOME TERRITORIES TO EUROPE ACROSS THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA.

– TO POINT OUT THAT U.N., EUROPEAN & MARITIME LAWS ARE BEING BROKEN AGAINST PEOPLE AND CHARITIES WHO RISK THEIR LIVES TRYING TO HELP THESE IMMIGRANTS.

– TO RAISE FUNDS FOR OPEN ARMS

OPEN ARMS

Open Arms is a non-profit non-governmental organisation with one principal mission: to protect those who try to reach Europe by sea, fleeing from armed conflict, persecution or poverty; and also to inform and educate on land so that those who migrate can make decisions with complete freedom and knowledge.

Open Arms have to deal with many injustices and tragedies from day to day, among these are having to deal with countries breaking laws and making an already difficult job even more dangerous and difficult.

My aim, as an artist, is to help this incredible organisation to keep doing what it does. Therefore I have created a series of posters using photographs that were taken along the Mediterranean coast. Along with the photographs I am using fact to try to point out injustices, highlight some wrongs that need to be made right. The idea being to encourage support for the enormous amount of work that Open Arms does. We are looking for any help we can get – funding, use of public or private spaces, online exposure or print exposure.
